Tokewell Interview | Meet the man behind PHIX & Brewell

David Lee is an individual with many passions in life. Perhaps one of the most prevalent ones would be his zeal for influencing the vaping world. For Lee, vaping isn’t just a hobby, it’s a way of life. However, he has good reason for this. Like many others, he realizes that the vaping pastime has been shown effective in help millions of individuals all over the world quit their addiction to cigarettes. That, David Lee realizes, is a good thing. As he sat down for an interview with Tokewell magazine, two things were immediately evident with Lee. First of all, he is looking to be as out-of-the-box as possible. Secondly, he doesn’t want to be just another vape merchant.

As the owner of Brewell MFG, David Lee is always on the lookout for products his company can utilize to help people get turned on to the vaping industry. He knows that vaping is a much healthier alternative than regular cigarette smoking, and that is why he continues to push the envelope in the vaping game. His recent product will probably put him on the map for more than just vaping.

PHIX

David Lee introduced the PHIX flavor options and vape device product, which is a vapor mod that has brought only some of the best flavors to the forefront and changed the vape game. Even though if anyone could boast about how they have changed the vaping industry it would be Lee, he chooses not to simply because like any other good entrepreneur he realizes he hasn’t “arrived” yet. There is still much work to do.

During David Lee’s telling interview, he was asked a number of questions, including a couple regarding how he was first introduced to the vaping industry and what motivated him to get into it. He responded that he was introduced to vaping by a friend of his who owned a vape shop in Lakewood and he was really looking for a product he could get into and stand behind. The fact that vaping has been utilized by a number of individuals to help them quit smoking really appealed to him.

David Lee also touched on how much vaping has changed his life during this interview. He said that it has not only given him back his health but that he also met his wife because of the vaping trend, literally just a month after he started the company. He also knows he has learned a lot about business simply because of starting this company. One of the ideals he is fond of would be the adage, “Hustle. Grind. Repeat.” In a nutshell, David Lee realizes that doors will open for everyone, but not on their own. You have to give your heart and soul to whatever your passion is and it will help you make things happen.

In today's blog, Tokewell Magazine sat down with David Lee to find out more about the man behind the scenes and how he brought up Brewell MFG & Phix Vapor to what it is today as one of the best premium e-juices and closed loop pre-filled pod system devices on the market.

David Lee is a prime example of hustle and unwavering fortitude. He is a young entrepreneur who got into a burgeoning industry out of necessity and saw an open door of opportunity to elevate the vape game. He's had random off jobs throughout his life and nothing quite panned out. That was until he was introduced to the vape industry through one of his friends. "I was smoking cigarettes at the time and an old partner of mine introduced me to vaping and got me on the actual product. He really opened up my eyes to the industry and that's when I realized that this is what I want to do. It was something I could really be passionate about, stand behind, and push", said David.

How did you get into the vape game?


I was introduced to the vape industry by an old partner who owned a vape shop in Lakewood called Genki Vape. He introduced me to vaping, got me on the actual product, and it was Lawrence from e-Cig Hawaiian Gardens. He really opened up my eyes to the industry. That's when I realized that this is what I want to do. It was something I could really be passionate about, stand behind and push.

What's the main reason you wanted to get into the vape industry?

I think the main reason why I got into the game was to really be able to stand by something that you believe in. And I'm able to attach myself to a product and industry that I helped grow and vape was the perfect scenario for that.

What do you think the biggest struggle is for the vape industry?

Working together as a community. It's always going to be tough to band together. Anything great and big, there are always going to be complications to unite. For the most part,
you do see unity and people trying to raise awareness. At the end of the day, if we all still believe what vaping can do for the people and the community, we'll be alright.

What has vaping given you?

It's changed my life. Not only my health. I even met my wife. Like a month after we started this company, I met her. The vape industry taught me how to grind, hustle and run a business. It changed my life in not just thinking small minded, but what innovation can bring.

What makes Brewell / Phix so successful?


It's a number of things. You have to surround yourself with like-minded people. Your team has to be tight and share the same hustle and vision as you. Have partners that motivate you and drive you constantly. Longevity
is built on partnerships. I've seen other companies fail because they couldn't maintain the partnerships. Everything is built on the foundation of the strong partnerships we have at Brewell and the team.

What's Brewell going to be doing 5 years from now?


We been here for 5 years and were still going to be around much longer. We are always innovating and developing to be on the cutting edge of the market. If we launch something, you can believe that it's been deeply thought of, researched and developed. Every single aspect will be of quality. We know we will be at levels the vape industry has never seen and will be one of the biggest brands in the world.

What is the greatest misconception of the vape industry?

We don't market to the youth. As a community and industry, we need to come together and not enable other brands that appear to.

What do you think the industry needs to do to overcome?


I do want the world to know that we are doing everything in our power to ensure we are following every guideline. For instance, like us. We welcome the regulations with open arms. We want them to tell us, hey,
this is what needs to be done to be a proper compliant product because that's the next step to becoming a staple of the world. We need those regulations. We need people to tell us right from wrong and we can make those moves forward.

What do your loved ones think about your success?

I think they're shocked. But they always 
saw the potential in me. I think everybody has potential. My mom is extremely happy.
I make sure she's taken care of and the tables have turned. That's one of my greatest accomplishments in life. to take care of her.

Do you have any advice for people looking to get into the game?
 There's nothing impossible. It all depends on the effort you put into it. You have to live, eat, sleep and breathe your business. You can't just come into an industry because its booming and expect to be successful. You might get lucky and hit something, but if you want longevity, you gotta be about this business day in, day out. First one in, last one out. You can't lie to the game. The game will see how much effort you put into it and at the end of the day, it will always show.

Any words for hustlers and entrepreneurs that might be struggling?


For the most part, everybody is scrambling to find out what they're meant to do or what their calling is. I think you need to take a step back and achieve one goal at a time. One victory at a time. You gotta make sure you set these goals and realize it's not going to happen overnight. Things happen. It might not be your dream job, but it might be something that allows you to get where you never thought you could. Doors will open and if you work hard, people will see that and they're going to want to fuck with you. So, take it day by day, and put in your 100-200% and things will start happening
